Wreath-Making Workshop 2020-Making it Work!

One of the events everyone looks forward to is our annual Wreath Making Workshop. Usually held in the large hall of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Gladstone, NJ - the space overflowed with a variety of greens and berries, boxes filled with gorgeous handmade bows, the smell of balsam in the air and the buzz of festive activity - as members and their guests worked side by side, sharing wreath decorating ideas and much more.

Central to the workshop was the service we provided for the community. All members made one or more miniature boxwood arrangement for patients receiving treatment at the Carol G. Simon Cancer Center at Morristown Medical Center. Wreaths were also donated to the local library and the Interfaith Hospitality Network of Somerset County (IHNSC).

But like so many events this past year, our workshop had to be cancelled due to the pandemic. For 2020, the committee focused on providing community wreaths instead.

Co-Chairs Tracey Biedron and Kristen Ramsey worked behind the scenes to make and deliver wreaths to the Clarence Dillon Library and the Interfaith Hospitality Network of Somerset County (IHNSC) and fulfill our club’s long-standing and dedicated service.

A letter from the IHNSC thanked The Garden Club of Somerset Hills for its continued support. In the end, this is the spirit of the holiday season and we so are grateful to Tracey and Kristen for continuing to provide this service to our community during this challenging year.
