Come join us for a morning at Raritan Headwaters Association, RHA, for our annual bird and butterfly garden clean-up. Make sure to bring your gloves and clippers!
We will also have amaryllis bulbs and supplies for potting them up during our bulb workshop following the clean-up. For those of you who might not know, our Club has our own Amaryllis Show - it would be great to have our club members submit entries for the show which is in February.
*Please bring a check payable to GCSH if you would like to purchase bulbs.

Grow It Green Morristown creates sustainable farms and gardens and educates communities on healthy eating and environmental stewardship. GCSH is pleased to partner with them for our Common Ground Collaborative Project. It is exciting to bring their vision of this community garden to fruition!

Please plan on bringing any of your plants that you propagated in June and we can have a look at them to see if they need repotting. Hopefully, some of you have had better luck with some of the herb seeds than I have. My cuttings have done much better than the seeds.
Visiting Gardens & Conservation Tour of Maranatha Farm
75 Willow Avenue in Peapack
Conservation and Visiting Gardens committees have organized this upcoming tour of Maranatha Farm in Peapack. Michele Logan will lead a tour of her 75 acre farm where she practices permaculture, regenerative forestry and water management. She was featured in a recent Perfect Earth Project newsletter where she was commended for conservation and stewardship of her land.
New Jersey Committee Lecture & Luncheon
NJC Luncheon, Lecture & Boutique
The New Jersey Committee's Annual Luncheon fundraiser supports the Millicent Mercer Johnsen Scholarships. The scholarships have supported over 62 students in a field of study including horticulture, the environment, landscape architecture, plant and marine science. Our speaker will be Warrie Price: Founder and President of The Battery Conservancy & recipient of GCA's 2024 Historic Preservation Medal.
Warrie has overseen the remarkable transformation of The Battery, a 25-acre park located at the southernmost tip of New York City. Under her leadership, this once-neglected area has become a lush paradise of plants over the past two decades. She collaborated with city, state, and federal agencies, securing over $180 million in public and private support for revitalization efforts. For more than 25 years, Warrie has worked with talented designers to create a culturally rich gathering place. The Battery attracts millions of visitors annually and is internationally renowned. Her talk promises to be fascinating!

Jared Flesher is an award-winning documentary filmmaker and creates videos and photos for the Office of Sustainability at Princeton University. “Dark Sacred Night,” is a short (16 min) documentary about the rapidly increasing problem of light pollution. Dark skies are threatened or endangered depend- ing on where you are on the planet. A discussion will follow the film.
Grow It Green Clean-Up
Friday, November 10th at 9:30 am, we are helping to remove invasive plants along a section of fence in order to prep for healthy plant material. Please join GCSH Members as we start a new "hands-on" project with Grow It Green which is part of a GCA initiative for Civic Improvement & Grants.
