NJC Luncheon, Lecture & Boutique

The New Jersey Committee's Annual Luncheon fundraiser supports the Millicent Mercer Johnsen Scholarships.  The scholarships have supported over 62 students in a field of study including horticulture, the environment, landscape architecture, plant and marine science. Our speaker will be Warrie Price:  Founder and President of The Battery Conservancy & recipient of GCA's 2024 Historic Preservation Medal.

Warrie has overseen the remarkable transformation of The Battery, a 25-acre park located at the southernmost tip of New York City. Under her leadership, this once-neglected area has become a lush paradise of plants over the past two decades. She collaborated with city, state, and federal agencies, securing over $180 million in public and private support for revitalization efforts.  For more than 25 years, Warrie has worked with talented designers to create a culturally rich gathering place.
